Taiwan Allows LCD Makers To Invest More In China

Law360, New York (February 10, 2010, 4:15 PM EST) -- The government of Taiwan has reportedly agreed to allow its liquid crystal display industry to invest more in mainland China, in order to help Taiwanese LCD producers keep up with rivals in South Korea that have recently been allowed to boost their Chinese investment.

Taiwan's economics minister Shih Yen-shiang said at a press conference in Taipei Wednesday that LCD makers will be allowed to build up to three facilities in China that are based on the more advanced sixth-generation and above technology, Reuters reported.
