Worldwide Antitrust Probe Of LCD Panels Expands

Law360, New York (December 12, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- The latest probe into price-fixing in the technology industry has flared into a worldwide investigation, with the European Commission, the United States Department of Justice and the Korean and Japanese Fair Trade Commissions joining forces to scrutinize possible anti-competitive behavior in the market for LCD displays.

Regulators are looking into alleged production-limiting agreements that might have taken place in 2002 and 2003 to counter the staggering price declines in the thin-film transistor (TFT) LCD market.
