E.U. Mulls Killing Off Community Patent Project

Law360, New York (May 20, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The European Commission is contemplating whether to pull the plug once and for all on the 30-year project to create a European Union-wide community patent.

To the dismay of business executives and political leaders, the Competitiveness Council failed yet again this week to reach a final agreement on the last few points of contention, most of which relate to translation issues.
