Baucus, Grassley Introduce Bipartisan Jobs Bill

Law360, New York (February 11, 2010, 5:55 PM EST) -- Sens. Max Baucus, D-Mont., and Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, released a draft Thursday of a bipartisan legislative proposal to provide hiring incentives for employers, extend unemployment benefits, and take other measures to help struggling individuals and businesses.

Called the Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment Act, or HIRE Act, the proposal would offer an exemption from social security payroll taxes for every worker hired in 2010 that has been unemployed for at least 60 days.
