161 GCs Ask Congress To OK $700M For Legal Services Corp.

By Madison Arnold (May 18, 2022, 3:36 PM EDT) -- General counsel from 161 of the largest corporations in the country want Congress to approve $700 million in funding for the independent nonprofit Legal Services Corp. next fiscal year.

The legal leaders wrote a letter to Congress on Tuesday asking the lawmakers to approve the $700 million requested for the LSC in President Joe Biden's budget for fiscal year 2023. The organization provides grants for civil legal assistance to low-income Americans.
