6th Circ. Affirms Denial Of Benefits To Miner's Widow

Law360, New York (February 16, 2010, 5:16 PM EST) -- A federal appeals court has affirmed a review board's reversal of benefits awarded to the widow of a coal miner under the Black Lung Benefits Act, holding that a physician's conclusion that the miner may have lived longer if not for his job was insufficient to prove that his job “hastened” his death.
