Insurers Call On EU To Clarify Digital Products Regulations

By Joel Poultney (May 26, 2022, 2:04 PM BST) -- European insurers urged the bloc's executive arm on Thursday not to force the sector to comply with proposed new rules for common cybersecurity standards for digital products, arguing that existing legislation is sufficient.

Insurance Europe, a trade body, supported the European Commission's proposals to manage the cybersecurity risks associated with online products such as software systems or physical hardware. But the group added that including the sector in the new Cyber Resilience Act prompted logistical challenges.
