Probe, Dealer Action Are Toyota's Latest Headaches

Law360, New York (February 16, 2010, 4:17 PM EST) -- Federal regulators began a probe Tuesday into the timing of Toyota Motor Corp.'s recalls, just a few days after a Missouri used car dealer filed a putative class action alleging the company sold cars with defective gas pedals.

The lawsuit, lodged Friday by Jerry Baker Auto Sales LLC in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri, says dealers across the country are bearing the financial brunt of the recalls and so-called stop sales orders and deserve to be compensated.
