Beef Jerky Maker Sues Over Tariff Classification

Law360, New York (February 18, 2010, 4:48 PM EST) -- Link Snacks Inc. — maker of Jack Link's Beef Jerky — has filed a suit alleging that U.S. Customs and Border Protection erred when it reclassified beef jerky as “cured or pickled beef” on the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States.

In a complaint filed Feb. 12 in the U.S. Court of International Trade, Link Snacks argues that the reclassification ignores a “substantial body of evidence” and is arbitrary, capricious and not in accordance with law.
