Franklin Recalls 38K Water Pump Motor Controllers

Law360, New York (February 19, 2010, 4:06 PM EST) -- Due to an adhesive problem that could lead to shock, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is recalling about 38,000 Pumptec electric motor controllers for submersible pump systems made by Franklin Electric Co.

The CPSC announced the recall Thursday in cooperation with Bluffton, Ind.-based Franklin. The systems are used to protect water pumps by monitoring motor load and supply voltage and to shut down the pump to prevent damage.
