Amersham Sues PerkinElmer Over Drug Technology Patents

Law360 (October 24, 2003, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Amersham Biosciences and its parent, U.K.-based Amersham PLC, have filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court in Newark, NJ, against PerkinElmer Inc., alleging that PerkinElmer infringed on two of Amersham's patents for technology used in the development of new drugs.

The complaint alleges that PerkinElmer's ViewLux and Image FlashPlate products infringe on Amersham patents for technologies that use luminescence and fluorescence to analyze compounds being screened for use in the development of new drugs.
