Pfizer Must Pay $9.5M In Another Prempro Verdict

Law360, New York (February 23, 2010, 3:56 PM EST) -- A Philadelphia jury has awarded $9.45 million to a woman and her husband who sued Wyeth Inc., which has since been acquired by Pfizer Inc., when she developed breast cancer after taking Prempro.

The jury in the Court of Common Pleas in Philadelphia County issued the verdict Monday after a five-week trial. The jury awarded $6 million in punitive damages and $3.45 million in compensatory damages, including $200,000 for the husband's loss of consortium claim.
