DC Circ. Affirms Win For Police Dept. In Race Bias Suit

Law360, New York (February 24, 2010, 4:57 PM EST) -- A federal appeals court has upheld summary judgment against black and Asian police officers in Washington, saying their claims of race discrimination against the District of Columbia and police lieutenant Robert Atcheson fall flat due to procedural errors.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit on Tuesday said the six plaintiffs' claims against Atcheson failed due to reliance on insufficient summaries of sworn witness statements, while claims against D.C. failed to show a genuine issue of material fact.
