1st Circ. Dumps $1M Wiretap Award For Cops, Firemen

Law360, New York (February 24, 2010, 2:39 PM EST) -- A federal appeals court has vacated a $1 million judgment awarded to Providence, R.I., police officers and firefighters who said the city illegally recorded their telephone conversations, finding that the city and several officials are shielded from municipal liability and entitled to qualified immunity.
