Fed. Circ. Affirms $2.5M Award In Trading Software Suit

Law360, New York (February 25, 2010, 6:50 PM EST) -- A federal appeals court has upheld a $2.5 million infringement ruling against commodities exchange operator eSpeed Inc. and several affiliates in a long-running patent suit brought by Trading Technologies International Inc. over its commodity trading software.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on Thursday affirmed a district court's ruling that eSpeed, Ecco LLC, Eccoware Ltd., and eSpeed International Ltd. nonwillfully infringed two TTI patents with one of their service products, though not two other accused products.
