Toyota Withheld Data In Rollover Suits, Towns Says

Law360, New York (February 26, 2010, 5:32 PM EST) -- Adding to the growing list of headaches for Toyota Motor Corp., U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform chair Edolphus Towns, D-N.Y., has asserted that the automaker deliberately withheld key design and testing data in product liability and personal injury suits over rollover crashes.

Towns announced those findings Friday after a review of documents the committee obtained under subpoena from a former managing counsel in the product liability group of Toyota Motor Sales.
