CBP Asks CIT For 2nd Chance With Broker Penalties

Law360, New York (March 2, 2010, 1:02 PM EST) -- U.S. Customs and Border Protection is asking the Court of International Trade to reconsider its order dismissing proceedings against UPS Customhouse Brokerage Inc., saying the agency should be allowed to redetermine whether it should collect penalties on the broker.

In a motion Monday, the U.S. government said the court had misconstrued a mandate from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
