Steering Problem Prompts GM To Recall 1.3M Cars

Law360, New York (March 2, 2010, 2:26 PM EST) -- General Motors Corp. said Tuesday it was recalling 1.3 million compact cars to replace the motors in their power steering assist systems, after an investigation the company began last year found the systems prone to fail.

The recall covers the 2005 through 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models, the 2005 through 2006 Pontiac Pursuit models sold in Canada and the 2005 through 2006 Pontiac G4 models sold in Mexico, GM said.
