Fairchild Targets Rival In Chinese Microchip IP Suit

Law360, New York (March 2, 2010, 5:08 PM EST) -- Fairchild Semiconductor Inc. has filed a lawsuit accusing rival electronics manufacturer Power Integrations Inc. of infringing four of its Chinese patents, seeking an injunction barring the company from making or selling several brands of its integrated circuits in China.

The complaint, filed in the Suzhou Intermediate Court, also seeks monetary damages based on the alleged infringement, Fairchild said Tuesday.

The San Jose, Calif.-based electronics maker cited several brands of PI's integrated circuits in its allegations, including the TinySwitch, LinkSwitch and TOPSwitch GX product families.
