Chinese Salt Subsidies Exceed 100 Percent: ITA

Law360, New York (March 3, 2010, 1:44 PM EST) -- The International Trade Administration has found that Chinese potassium phosphate salts are being subsidized at a rate greater than 100 percent, leaving them open to countervailing duties.

The salts, used in cleaning products, fertilizers and food additives, receive net countervailable subsidies of 109.11 percent, the ITA said Tuesday. The decision is a preliminary finding that paves the way for duties.
