Valmont Snatches Engineering Co. Delta For $430M

Law360, New York (March 4, 2010, 6:00 PM EST) -- Omaha-based Valmont Industries Inc. revealed plans Thursday to acquire British industrial engineering company Delta PLC for roughly $430 million, saying the move was aimed at broadening the U.S. firm's international footprint.

Under the terms of the deal, Valmont — which manufactures engineered support structures, coating services for infrastructure and mechanized irrigation equipment for agriculture — will fork over ₤1.85, or about $2.78, per Delta share, representing a transaction value of approximately $430 million at current exchange rates, the company said.
