NHTSA Eyed Over Post-Recall Toyota Complaints

Law360, New York (March 8, 2010, 5:29 PM EST) -- The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has come under new fire in connection with Toyota Motor Corp.'s recent spate of recalls, with Rep. Edolphus Towns, D-N.Y., calling for more details on steps the agency is taking to investigate complaints that some recalled vehicles continue to experience sudden acceleration problems even though they were mechanically corrected.

Towns, who chairs the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, asked NHTSA administrator David Strickland in a letter Friday to hand over information regarding its probe into the possible root causes...
