Mobile Company Helio Sues Palm Over Slogan

Law360, New York (December 20, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Mobile company Helio LLC filed suit against rival Palm Inc. Tuesday, claiming the established handheld device maker infringed on the fledgling company’s trademarked slogan.

Helio has used the slogan “Don’t Call It a Phone” to market and promote its mobile services and hand-held devices since it launched in May.

Its complaint alleges that Palm knowingly infringed its trademark with its $25 million holiday marketing campaign hinging on the slogan “Not Just a Cell Phone.”
