Supreme Court Rebuffs Saint-Gobain Fridge Patent Suit

Law360, New York (March 8, 2010, 11:58 AM EST) -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday declined to weigh in on a patent battle over a refrigerator shelf in which Saint-Gobain Corp. sought to overturn a permanent injunction secured by appliance component maker Gemtron Corp.

The Supreme Court refused Saint-Gobain's request to review a decision issued by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in July 2009, rejecting Saint-Gobain's argument that a district court had improperly construed a claim in a Gemtron patent dealing with plastic frames for glass refrigerator shelves that have flexible...
