EU Clears Stanley Works, Black & Decker Merger

Law360, New York (March 12, 2010, 5:01 PM EST) -- The European Commission on Friday removed the final hurdle in the proposed merger between Stanley Works and Black & Decker, granting antitrust clearance for a union between the power tool giants.

The transaction will not impede effective competition in the European Economic Area, the EC said in a statement Friday.
