Avid Unit Claims Digital Mixers Should Be Duty-Free

Law360, New York (March 12, 2010, 4:04 PM EST) -- Avid Technology Inc.'s Digidesign Inc. unit has filed a complaint claiming U.S. Customs and Border Protection assessed a 2.6 percent duty on imported devices used to digitally edit music, when those items should have been duty-free.

Digidesign lodged its complaint in the U.S. Court of International Trade on Wednesday, 18 months after filing its initial summons.
