Reliant Challenges Abbott's TriCor Patents

Law360 (June 4, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Reliant Pharmaceuticals Inc. has filed a lawsuit against Abbott Laboratories, asking a federal judge to invalidate four anti-cholesterol drug patents.

In a suit filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware last week, Reliant says it plans to sell a version of Abbott's TriCor capsules, and that it expects Abbott and the original patent owner, Laboratoires Fournier of France, to sue for patent infringement.
