Citizens United Says Protest Group Infringes Its Name

Law360, New York (March 15, 2010, 3:59 PM EDT) -- Citizens United, the conservative group behind the lawsuit that led to the U.S. Supreme Court's landmark campaign finance ruling in January, has asked a Wisconsin organization mounting a protest of the decision to stop using the trademarked Citizens United name.

Citizens United sent a letter dated March 10 to the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, demanding that it stop calling its campaign against the ruling “Citizens United Against Citizens United.”
