Sony Asks ITC To Probe Display Patent Infringement

Law360, New York (March 19, 2010, 6:02 PM EDT) -- Sony Corp. has asked the U.S. International Trade Commission to launch an investigation into TPV International Inc., Innolux Corp. and Viewsonic Corp., alleging they import digital televisions and computer monitors that infringe 10 Sony patents.

The imports, which come mostly from China, violate Section 337 of Tariff Act of 1930, Sony claims in a 73-page complaint filed Thursday. The electronics giant asked the ITC to begin an investigation and ultimately to bar the allegedly offending products from the U.S.
