McWane To Pay Up To $12M For Ala. PCB Cleanup

Law360, New York (March 22, 2010, 5:41 PM EDT) -- Pipe and valve manufacturer McWane Inc. has agreed to contribute up to $12 million to the efforts of Solutia Inc. and Pharmacia Corp. to clean up lead and polychlorinated biphenyl pollution near Anniston, Ala.

The parties filed a motion to approve the settlement Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, which would end about seven years of litigation between the companies.

Pharmacia, which has been acquired by Pfizer Inc., and Solutia filed suit seeking contributions for the cleanup effort from McWane...
