Senate Approves Obama Picks For Nuclear Agency

Law360, New York (March 22, 2010, 6:50 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Senate has confirmed President Barack Obama's three nominees for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, including a former U.S. Department of Energy official who had sparked opposition for his ties to the nuclear industry.

The Senate approved the appointments of William D. Magwood, former director of nuclear energy at the DOE, and two other nominees Friday in a unanimous voice vote, giving the agency a full five members.
