Federal Circuit Hears Appeal In Blackberry Patent Case

Law360 (June 7, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit is hearing oral arguments this week in the closely watched patent dispute between Research In Motion Ltd. (RIM), maker of the popular BlackBerry handheld messaging device, and NTP Inc.

RIM is hoping the hearing will lead to the overturn of an injunction blocking the sale of Blackberry devices in the U.S. The injunction has been stayed since last August, pending this appeal.
