GMAC Pulls Trademark Suit Vs. LendingTree

Law360, New York (June 7, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- General Motors’ mortgage lending arm has dropped a recently filed trademark infringement lawsuit against online mortgage lending exchange LendingTree after learning that the complaint was based on a misunderstanding.

GMAC, which stands for General Mortgage Acceptance Corp., had alleged LendingTree was attempting to trade on GMAC's reputation by using or appropriating GMAC's trademark as an Internet domain name.
