Law360, New York (March 24, 2010, 3:59 PM EDT) -- The Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday was forced to cancel a highly anticipated showdown over U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit nominee Goodwin Liu, who has drawn fierce support and opposition for his judicial philosophy and constitutional scholarship.

Senate Republicans refused to give their consent for the Judiciary Committee to hold scheduled hearings on Liu's nomination, and Kimberly Mueller's nomination to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California, as lawmakers wage war over the final piece of health care legislation....
