EPA Seeks GHG Emissions Data From Oil, Gas Sector

Law360, New York (March 23, 2010, 6:37 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has proposed expanding new greenhouse gas reporting rules to include additional sources, chiefly the oil and gas industry, signaling future regulation in those sectors.

The agency announced Tuesday that it wanted to add more industries to the first-ever mandatory greenhouse gas reporting system in order to better identify the amount of greenhouse gases entering the environment and eventually zero in on the various sources that contribute to global warming.
