Chevron Evades Sanctions In Suit Over Ohio Refinery

Law360, New York (March 24, 2010, 2:10 PM EDT) -- Plaintiffs in a suit against Chevron USA Inc. over property damage and illness linked with an Ohio refinery have lost a bid to sanction the oil giant for withholding documents relevant to the case.

In the “long saga” over Chevron's privilege log, the plaintiffs failed to exhaust the possibility of a friendly solution before going to the court, Judge Sandra Beckwith of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio ruled Tuesday.
