Lawyers Mostly Happy Despite Challenges: Report

Law360, New York (March 26, 2010, 6:17 PM EDT) -- While the legal industry is undergoing a philosophical shift toward better efficiency and a focus on client service, most lawyers are happy with their jobs and confident in the future of their industry, according to a new report.

About 92 percent of attorneys feel client expectations have changed, and 85 percent say they've heard of instances where clients refuse to pay for first-year work done on their cases, said a report conducted by Ari Kaplan, principal of legal advising firm Ari Kaplan Advisors.
