Bill Would Extend COBRA To Domestic Partners

Law360, New York (March 29, 2010, 1:07 PM EDT) -- Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., is sponsoring legislation that would allow same-sex domestic partners to claim the same health insurance benefits under the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act as those available to an employee's legal spouse of the opposite sex.

Boxer introduced S. 3182, the Equal Access to COBRA Act, in the Senate on Thursday.
