Hartford Fire, Others Off Hook In Surety Class Action

Law360, New York (March 29, 2010, 6:36 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Court of International Trade has dismissed all claims against Hartford Fire Insurance Co. and other insurers in a group of U.S. honey, garlic, mushroom and crawfish producers' $723 million putative class action over allegedly negligent surety bonds.

CIT Judge Timothy C. Stanceu on Friday granted the insurers' motions to dismiss, tossing six counts, including declaratory judgment, breach of contract, negligence and disgorgement claims.
