NLRB Appointments Clear Way For Pro-Union Change

Law360, New York (March 30, 2010, 6:38 PM EDT) -- Now that union lawyer Craig Becker has been appointed to the National Labor Relations Board, employers can expect a shake-up in board law and rulemaking on several issues that should make it easier for unions to organize, attorneys said.

President Barack Obama's recess appointments over the weekend of Becker and fellow Democrat Mark Pearce have created a 3-1 Democratic majority on a board that has spent the last 27 months with just two members.
