Toyota Creates Panel To Boost Consumer Confidence

Law360, New York (March 30, 2010, 4:53 PM EDT) -- In an effort to rebuild consumer confidence amid a global recall of 8 million vehicles and a deluge of lawsuits, Toyota Motor Corp. unveiled a new strategy Tuesday for informing its quality decisions with customer perspectives.

Toyota President Akio Toyoda convened the first meeting of the company's Special Committee for Global Quality, which will spearhead reforms by investigating and responding to quality problems while developing comprehensive improvements to operations including strengthening global communication and transparency.
