Ney’s Energy Dealings Could Lengthen Sentence

Law360, New York (January 5, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- Former Ohio Rep. Bob Ney provided favors to a pair of Russian energy executives who were clients of disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff, according to previously undisclosed court documents.

These new accusations, which were revealed Wednesday in papers filed with the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., came as federal prosecutors seek a longer sentence for Ney, who pled guilty in October to corruption charges.
