Saint-Gobain $11M Glass Patent Suit Award Doubled

Law360, New York (April 1, 2010, 7:37 PM EDT) -- A judge has doubled the $10.9 million damages award a jury had already granted to Saint-Gobain Autover USA Inc. in its patent suit against Chinese windshield company Xinyi Automobile Glass Co. Ltd., bringing Saint-Gobain’s total prize, including attorneys’ fees, to nearly $24 million.

Judge Sara Lioi for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio handed down an order Wednesday requiring Xinyi to pay the plaintiffs $21.8 million in enhanced and compensatory damages and attorneys' fees and costs of $2.3 million.
