New Congress Takes Up Energy Issues

Law360, New York (January 8, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Democratic Congress has only been in power a few days, but already it is planning changes that may overhaul the energy industry.

In the Senate, for example, Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has introduced a bill that would increase vehicle fuel efficiency, cut oil industry subsidies, appropriate more funds to renewable energy and address global warming.
