Kroes Renews Battle Cry For Energy Unbundling

Law360, New York (January 8, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The European Union's top antitrust official has issued fresh warning calls that the best solution to anti-competitive practices in the energy sector would be forcing companies to separate production from distribution networks.

E.U. Competition Commissioner Neelie Kroes told reporters in Paris on Monday that "ownership unbundling is the best answer and best remedy for tackling the problems we are facing," according to Reuters.
