Supreme Court Declines EchoStar Appeal

Law360, New York (January 8, 2007, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Supreme Court on Monday declined to hear an appeal by EchoStar Communications Corp., forcing the satellite company to comply with an appeals court order barring it from providing local television programming to subscribers outside of local areas.

EchoStar, which operates the home satellite carrier Dish network, filed a writ of certiorari in October in hopes that the High Court would overturn the May 2006 ruling by the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit that EchoStar had willfully and repeatedly violated the Satellite...
