State, Local Regulators Call For Tough Climate Bill

Law360, New York (April 9, 2010, 3:15 PM EDT) -- State and local environmental regulators have called on Congress to set tough limits on greenhouse gas emissions as they develop a federal climate bill and to preserve states' rights to go beyond federal requirements.

The National Association of Clean Air Agencies, a group of 52 states and territories and over 165 metropolitan areas, sent a letter on Wednesday to Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass.; Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.; and Sen. Joe Lieberman, I-Conn., calling global warming “one of the most pressing environmental issues facing our generation.”...
