CPSC To Toughen Up Safety Enforcement In 2011

Law360, New York (April 14, 2010, 4:15 PM EDT) -- U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Chairwoman Inez Tenenbaum said Wednesday that the agency was preparing to staff up for 2011 in anticipation of a shift from writing new safety mandates under the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 to enforcing the measures.

Tenenbaum outlined details of the transition, as well as the agency's other top priorities, as part of a hearing before the U.S. Senate subcommittee on financial services and general government to discuss the CPSC's budget request for fiscal year 2011.
