Congress Mulls Curb On Tax Breaks For IP Transfers

Law360, New York (June 15, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Congress is considering a proposal to scale back on tax breaks for intellectual property transfers to charitable groups.

The House Ways and Means Committee met Monday to consider revisions to the tax bill before it is sent to the full House of Representatives for a floor vote later this week.

Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, sponsored a similar bill that was approved in the Senate in May.
