NZ Gets Boost From WTO On Australian Apple Rules

Law360, New York (April 12, 2010, 4:12 PM EDT) -- New Zealand has prevailed in a World Trade Organization proceeding addressing a long-running trade dispute with Australia over its restrictions on the importation of New Zealand apples.

The interim finding in favor of New Zealand is not a final ruling and has only been sent to the two nations in confidence, a WTO representative said Monday.

In 2007 New Zealand made a request to the WTO for consultations with Australia concerning the apple measures imposed.
